High Keyword Density and Over-Optimization

I've recently found a useful tool for assessing how well your website has been optimized for keywords. You simply enter your URL into the density checker where it counts how many words you have on a page, and presents the most popular ones in a tag cloud. Give it a try:

How to avoid over-optimization is contained in a few simple guideline, which helps you analyze the results from your check. It generally says that a percentage score of between 3% and 7% is recommended. Any higher percentage than this may be regarded as keyword stuffing, something which Google will penalize by reducing your search engine rankings.

New direction for this blog...

Following a lack of diversity in posts, most of which were based on Internet articles, I've decided to rename this blog and focus it on Internet usability and it will have an emphasis on my specialist area of Web 2.0 technologies. My knowledge of science and technology is fairly limited so my articles should be more focused from now on.

I've been meaning to launch this blog for a long time and have only just gotten around to doing it. I had an old blog on Wordpress on one of my univeristy modules but I expect it to be removed soon now that the module (and course) is over. As a student I want to academically contribute by posting my thoughts and ideas in the form of blog posts on current issues and debates in the scientific and technological community.
